Generally made from grades such as 304, 304L, 316, and 316L, which consist of 18–20% chromium and 8–12% nickel, the stainless steel bolts possess superior corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. They possess tensile strengths of 500 to 700 MPa, based on grade and heat treatment. Stainless steel 316 bolts contain molybdenum and exhibit greater resistance to pitting and chloride environments. They are made in a way that they can support structure even when there is a high stress and temperature. They resist rust, chemical exposure, and weathering and therefore can be used for indoor and outdoor purposes in severe environments.
